Dr Stone has been formally renewed for season 3 and while it, unfortunately, won’t release worldwide until 2023, another new episode is on the way this Summer.
The annual JumpFesta event in Japan brings an entire host of info, announcements, and trailer for forthcoming anime projects.
In any case, the enormous reveal at the December 2021 event for the Dr Stone franchise was made in the development of the show, which included a Senku-board on Day Two.
Tragically, it’s great and terrible info for fans of the hit series; season 3 is coming, however, it, unfortunately, won’t debut until 2023, while another OVA shows up this Summer.
The Winter 2021 anime season was one of the best ever. Followed so many series weekly (Re:Zero, Dr. Stone, Jujutsu Kaisen, Promised Neverland S2 [lol], Quintuplets), and there were STILL more shows I need to try watching (Horimiya, Wonder Egg, Attack on Titan, +even more).— Matt Brandl (@TheAbsol) March 28, 2021
DR STONE WILL RETURN FOR MORE INVENTIVE ADVENTURES IN SEASON 3
It’s incredible info for fans of Dr Stone, the anime series has been formally renewed for season 3 by the TMS/8PAN creation studio. The announcement was made on March 25th, via social media, just a few hours before the season 2 finale debuted; very few fans were stunned by the news.
Anime renewals typically rely upon two factors; popularity and accessibility of source material – fortunately, Senku has these in abundance. Right now, Dr Stone is scoring a strong 8.2/10 on IMDB, and 4.7/5 on Crunchyroll with evaluations of 8.3/10 and 8.18/10 on MyAnimeList across the two seasons-effectively to the point of justifying a reestablishment for something like another season.
There is likewise a lot of source material from the manga left to adapt to more anime seasons. As per AnimeGeek (previously Monsters and Critics) season 2 of the TV series closed by adjusting up until part 83 (Volume 10). The beneficial thing for fans is that 232 sections of Dr Stone have been distributed across 25 volumes, with the last volume set to deliver later in 2022.
Considering how much material there is left to adjust and the prominence of the series, it was an all the time “ten billion percent” ensure that Dr Stone would be restored for season 3.
DR STONE SEASON 3 RELEASE SET FOR 2023
Tragically, fans of the hit anime series are in for a more extended stand-by than large numbers of us would have needed, with Dr Stone season 3 planned to release in 2023.
This was first revealed by the Weekly Shonen Jump Twitter page, as well as by the famous, and commonly solid, leaker SugoiLITE. Fortunately, the 2023 launch window was then confirmed officially with the release of a special teaser trailer at the previously mentioned JumpFesta event, see next segment.
Unfortunately, a particular release date has not yet been revealed, yet fingers are crossed that the anime series will return in the Winter broadcasting slate (January 2023), equivalent to the subsequent season’s transmission.
However, fans shouldn’t that all the more good news is to follow – more Dr Stone content is being produced by TMS/8PAN.
A SPECIAL DR STONE OVA EPISODE ARRIVES THIS SUMMER
A fresh new special OVA episode from the well-known franchise will be released this Summer 2022 and will tie over Dr Stone’s anime content until season 3 of 2023.
The episode is named ‘TVSP Ryusui’ and centres around the presentation of Ryusui Nanami, a vital person in the forthcoming third anime season. Ryusui will purportedly be voiced by Ryota Suzuki, who has recently played Yu Ishigami in Kaguya-sama, Arai in Boruto and Yukimaru in Fena: Pirate Princess.
TVSP Ryusui will release in July 2022 yet in the future, neither a particular release date nor a worldwide streaming window was shared. However, the episode is supposed to be launched through the Crunchyroll stage, which has simulcasted both previous seasons of the series.
