EVER Fans have been asking concerns about Marvel’s prior TV shows since the studio began releasing new original series on Disney+. While some of those questions were answered when Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin returned to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s still unclear whether shows like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Jessica Jones are considered canon by the studio.
Apart from that technicality, Marvel is close to bringing all of its live-action TV projects to the same platform. Here’s everything you need to know about Disney+’s upcoming superhero TV episodes, including if Disney wants to censor or otherwise alter Marvel’s Netflix shows.
WHAT MARVEL SERIES ARE ON THE WAY TO DISNEY+?
Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher, The Defenders, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will all be available on Disney+ starting this month.
That means Marvel is transferring not only the full of its previous Netflix lineup to Disney+ but also the final of its ABC TV shows, as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will join both Inhumans and Agent Carter on the Mouse House’s premier streaming service.
WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO BE ON DISNEY+?
On Wednesday, March 16, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher, The Defenders, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will be available to stream on Disney+.
ON DISNEY+, WHEN WILL THESE MARVEL SHOWS PREMIERE?
On March 16, at 12:01 a.m. Pacific, or 3:01 a.m. Eastern, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Marvel’s other Netflix programmes will premiere on Disney+.
HOW CAN YOU WATCH RETURNING MARVEL TV SHOWS ONLINE?
Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher, The Defenders, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will all be accessible exclusively on Disney+ starting March 16. To view (or replay) these shows, you’ll need to be a paying Disney+ user.
SHOWS FROM MARVEL ON NETFLIX WILL BE CENSORED?
Marvel’s Netflix programs were noticeably more mature, graphic, and violent than any of the episodes the studio is now developing for Disney+, a streaming service with a primarily family-friendly content collection. Most fans of Netflix’s Defenders episodes were concerned that they might be sanitised to suit in better on Disney+ when the switch was announced.
Thankfully, this will not be the case. Instead, alongside the launch of the Netflix series, Disney+ is introducing new parental restrictions to the service. Childproofing options and the ability to create a PIN that prevents specific profiles from viewing explicit content are reportedly included. On March 16, these options will be available on Disney+.
