Invincible Season 2: The Amazon Original television series Invincible was an instant smash when it premiered in spring 2021, and a second season has been avidly anticipated since then. Viewers and critics alike appreciated the show for its bold animation, exciting action scenes, all-star cast, and faithful adaptation of the original comic tale. Amazon Studios has renewed the series for a second season on Amazon Prime Video, which comes as no surprise.

Season 2 of Invincible:

The adult animated superhero show is based on the critically acclaimed comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman. The comic ran for 15 years, from 2003 to 2018, and featured 144 issues. The show follows 17-year-old Mark Grayson as he learns how to become a superhero under the guidance of Omni-Man, the world’s most powerful person, who also happens to be his father. Mark is compelled to strike a balance between his personal life and his heroic profession, in which he must demonstrate that he is capable of being the hero that his father has been for generations.

Release Date for Invincible Season 2:

In April of 2021, the series was renewed for a second and third season. The decision to renew the series was reached before the season 1 finale had even aired, owing to the show’s popularity. Season 2 production is under underway, according to members of the writing team.

Kirkman provided an update on Invincible season 2 production following a live tweet in January to give fans a look at how the first episode of the series was filmed.

“I’ve got to get back to season 2 (and 3)!” I have a script due very soon! Good luck to me! And thanks for sticking with me! I adore everyone!”

In an interview in March 2022, showrunner Simon Racioppa stated that the crew was “working hard” on getting Invincible season 2 out as soon as possible.

Steven Yeun (Mark Grayson/Invincible) recently stated that he will be returning to the studio on April 15th, 2022 to record lines for the Amazon Prime show. In a 20-second video shared on the official Invincible Twitter account, he can be seen and heard stating, “Can’t wait to make moreā€¦” After that, the video fades to the show’s iconic title card and music.

Unfortunately, given how long animations normally take to create, a season 2 debut is unlikely to happen this year. Given that Kirkman and his crew took several years to complete season 1, it’s been believed that the new Invincible season would be released in early 2023. Season two, on the other hand, is not expected to take as long as the first.
