Dolly Parton and Doja Cat Team Up with Taco Bell for Mexican Pizza: The Musical

Dolly Parton and Doja Cat, who have each recently sung the praises of Taco Bell’s for long-departed Mexican Pizza, presently plan to praise its return to the fast-food chain’s menu in a most tuneful manner.

On Monday, Taco Bell declared that the two artists will co-star in “Mexican Pizza: The Musical,” a mocking creation about fans’ endeavors to get the thing back on Taco Bell’s menu after it was removed in 2020.

The Mexican Pizza is set to get back to Taco Bell on May 19. The musical, which was composed by Hannah Friedman with music by the Grammy-winning songwriting pair Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, will make a big appearance week later on TikTok, as per NBC News.

Items are forever pulled off fast food menus all the time with the little fanfare.

But, when Taco Bell chose to end its Mexican Pizza, the choice either released an unanticipated groundswell of organic help or was one of the savviest marketing moves in ongoing memory, since now all the enthusiasm encompassing it has even proceeded to inspire a musical with the help from two Grammy songwriters and including notorious performers from two generations.

Taco Bell declared Mexican Pizza: The Musical. Debuting solely on TikTok on May 26 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, the production highlights two stars who have previously been related to the Mexican Pizza’s return — Doja Cat and Dolly Parton.

Fitting the viral topic, TikTok star Victor Kunda, who brought the possibility of a Mexican Pizza musical to life in one of his videos, likewise shows up. Furthermore, veteran TV writer and comedian Hannah Friedman (Obi-Wan Kenobi; Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp) wrote the script.

Concerning what’s in store, Taco Bell says the project is “a satirical musical about the ‘nerve racking’ story of the individuals who battled to bring back the Mexican Pizza,” that “will highlight unique music to highlight the brand’s most diehard followers.”

On May 9, 2022, Dolly Parton posted a photograph of a script on a table close to some tea. The script is named “Mexican Pizza: The Musical,” and it’s introduced by Live Más Productions’ Victor Kunda.

“I’m making #MexicanPizzaTheMusical with @TacoBell,” Parton composed on Instagram.

She posted the announcement with a photo of the script’s cover page, which read, “Based on the true story of the Internet losing its mind.”

“Here it is you all! We’re making a musical about my favourite pizza, the Mexican Pizza,” Parton added on her Instagram Story. “I can’t wait for you to see it!”
