claiming that Yung Gravy used an unauthorized imitation of Astley's vocals from his 1987 hit "Never Gonna Give You Up" in Yung Gravy's 2022 single "Betty (Get Money)".

English singer and songwriter Rick Astley, aged 56, filed legal documents in Los Angeles, as reported by TMZ,

alleging that Yung Gravy and his team had only obtained the rights to use the instrumental version of his 1987 hit "Never Gonna Give You Up", but not the vocals.

According to Astley's legal team, Yung Gravy, a musical artist from Rochester, Minnesota, along with his production team which includes Dillon Francis,

and impersonator Nick 'Popnick' Seeley, did not have permission to reproduce the vocals of Astley's hit song "Never Gonna Give You Up"

which led to the online 'Rick-Rolling' phenomenon, so they filed a legal case against them in court.

According to Astley's legal team, Yung Gravy and his team intentionally included a very similar imitation of Astley's voice in their song,

which they had no authorization to do so, and that they conspired to do it.
